Call Of Duty: World At War

July 28th, 2010

Call of Duty: World at War is the fifth part of one of the most famous and interesting series of games about the war Call of Duty. As you know, first, second and third parts were games on the theme of the Second World War, and only the fourth exception, telling us about our days. This game has earned many awards and prizes as you know. Now, many gamers often complain that the subject of the World War II of 1939 – 1945 has been forgotten and certainly their opinion has the right to exist. But despite all the doubts of the world public about the fifth part, this game is a real masterpiece which stands at the level of the best shooters about the Second World War. First shown at E3 2008, the game for Wii immediately struck with its graphics.

The game has two campaigns, the first of which is for the Soviet Red Army. The time of action is the very end of the war. The second campaign will take us to the Pacific Ocean, where the fight with Japanese will take place. The emphasis is placed on the jungle. The campaign against Japan will be very interesting. We will show an entirely different history of the war. We will see the torture of prisoners, violence, a sea of blood. In one mission you’ll have to save the captured soldiers and rescue them from a torture room. Everything is typical for this genre and you can concentrate on accomplishing the mission.

Now let me illustrate the question of graphics. Here you can write a lot but let’s stop on the most important points. To be honest sometimes, when you play, you forget that you play the game on Wii, because the picture is really very good for this console. Textures deserve a special attention. They are very pleasing on the eye. Absolutely all the walls have clear specific color and details. Of course, the grass and trees here do not burn, as in Far Cry 2, but all of this is made perfectly any way. I like dancing particles in the air. In some missions, you pass under the fire and the air is filled with bright particles of wood, grass and so on, and this is a very good move, because you feel the terrain you play on and it’s great of course.

Explosions, whistling of bullets, fire, screamings all these sounds are familiar not only to a veteran of the war, but to truly hardcore gamers. Everything is made on the highest level as usual. Sometimes I’m just a little surprised that Russian soldiers are talking in English but perhaps it’s the only one downside in this game. Enjoy this awesome stuff!
